Draft terms. These are a plain-English summary of how LENDACAR hire works. They're a starting point and should be reviewed before the first hire.
Drivers must be 18 or over and hold a full, current driver's licence valid for the whole hire. Overseas licences must be in English or accompanied by an official translation or International Driving Permit. Drivers under 25 pay an additional $250 bond.
Hire is a minimum of 7 days at $180 per week or $650 per 4 weeks (28 days). The first month (or the full hire if shorter) plus the bond is payable before pick-up. Longer hires are billed monthly in advance. Late payment may result in the car being recalled.
A bond of $500 (plus $250 if under 25) is held for the hire. It is refunded after the car is returned clean, with a full tank-matching fuel level, on time and with no new damage, fines or unpaid amounts. Deductions may be made for damage, cleaning, fines, tolls and unpaid hire.
Each car carries third-party property insurance. The car itself is not comprehensively insured. If the car is crashed or damaged while in your care, you pay an access charge of $1,000. You remain responsible for any fines, tolls and infringements incurred during the hire, and for damage to others where the driver was not covered or was in breach of these terms.
Only the named driver may drive. No driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, no racing, no towing, no commercial use, and no driving on unsealed roads without our agreement. Keep the car locked and report any accident or breakdown to us straight away. Keep the car roadworthy: check oil, water and tyres regularly.
Return the car on the agreed date at the agreed place. Extensions must be agreed with us in advance. We may recall the car if these terms are breached.
We collect the details and photos you provide only to assess and manage your hire, and keep them securely. We don't sell them.
